ClassScene delivers a multi-layered approach to safety and security. We have a leading safety and security expert advising us on strategy, policy, network design and business practices. Ben Eu, the former chief security officer of the Social Security Administration and the current chief information security officer for kajeet, Inc., is helping us ensure that we meet the highest standards for the protection of individuals and content appropriateness.

ClassScene has developed school membership and individual membership agreements that protect schools and its individuals. Further, we are committed to privacy and security and to providing the best possible user experience for you. Privacy and Security Certifications
ClassScene’s network is HackerSafe and VeriSign certified. HackerSafe and VeriSign sites are tested and certified daily to pass the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard requirements of Visa CISP and AIS, MasterCard SDP and American Express DSS programs. We are in process of securing a Trust-e certification, which is a robust privacy certification.
School Signup and Channel Administration
A member from the ClassScene team will walk each school through a readiness consultation. In the readiness consultation, we will walk through key items that the school needs to consider in setting up their school channel such as: channel features, administrator accounts and roles and permissions. Subsequent to the readiness consultation, we will walk the assigned school channel administrator through setting up the school channel.

Individual Signup Process
The individual sign up process begins with requiring parents to initiate individual memberships for their children and relatives. We assist the school with distributing PINs to the parents. We are able to verify the parents through the distributed PIN number and credit card verification. In addition, we have formed a strong partnership with Family Watchdog, a group that has developed one of the most comprehensive databases of registered sex offenders. We verify that each adult is not in the Family Watchdog Registered Sex Offender database. Believe us, ClassScene is the last place one of these offenders will want to check out. As the parent or legal guardian completes the sign-up process, invitations are then sent to their children and relatives who they approved. This ensures that only parents, students, relatives of the students, alumni and school faculty are able to see media published by the school.
Content Review and Posting
ClassScene has developed content review guidelines and processes to streamline the content review process as well as ensure only appropriate content is approved and posted. Further, contributors of content can mark photos and videos either as Public or Private. If you want to limit who can view content that has been contributed to the School Channel, just mark it Private and only members affiliated with the school can view. If there is ever a photo or video that is questionable, then flag it and we will notify the school administrator.
Digital Millennium Copyright Act Compliance
If you believe that any material contained on the site infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you should notify IMH of your copyright infringement claim in accordance with the following procedure. IMH will process notices of alleged infringement which it receives and will take appropriate action as required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable intellectual property laws. School Studio
Each school or district will need to select an Administrator for its channel, such as a:
School administrator
Yearbook adviser
Video production/broadcast teacher
Web master
Student activities director
Coach
After the channel is set up and the Administrator is ready, the faculty and faculty approved students who have the primary responsibility of producing media for the school can begin posting content to the channel. The Administrator will be responsible for managing the channel and reviewing and approving the media content submitted. Further, the Administrator can allocate these responsibilities to other School Channel User Accounts with appropriate role and permissions.
Once the school channel is set up, faculty and students with school channel user accounts can log in to the school studio to upload and meta tag content (add title, description, category and sub-category).
Once content is uploaded, ClassScene has set up a streamlined way to review and post the content.
Once content is published, School Administrator Accounts can edit or delete any photo or video at any time in either School Photos or School Videos
Gallery
The ClassScene Gallery is a rich Internet media gallery that showcases the school photos, videos and information so that it can become a lasting showcase, with your school as the focal point.
- Global Navigation You can control what you want to see in the playlist, by using the function located in this navigation area.
- Login You can log in to your account or create a new account to unlock more great features.
- Channel Guide You can find a school by selecting a state and city to search.
- The Breadcrumb You can always see what you are looking at in the gallery from the breadcrumb. You can go back to other views from the breadcrumb as well.
- Sort The sort buttons allow you to resort the current media in the playlist.
- Playlist The Playlist gives you a list of media that matches the breadcrumb.
- Player The Player is where you can watch the media you selected from the playlist.
- Controls The Player controles let you pick different ways to watch the media.
- Description The description area gives you information and options about the media.
Individual Studio
For Individual Members – students, parents, relatives, faculty members and alumni, this is where the fun begins. Members can upload their photos and videos, view their My Favorites from the School Channel, and send photos and videos online or to a camera phone.
Once the Individual Membership is set up, individuals can log in to their Individual Studio to upload and meta tag content (add title, description, category and sub-category).
Once content is uploaded, individuals can share, edit or delete any photo or video at any time in either My Photos or My Videos.
Further, individuals can create MyMuvees - cool picture slide shows or video montages
Last, individuals can create cool stuff in My Projects with media from the school channel or their personal channel, such as:

Other items such as cards, picture books, calendars and more
Use these items to show your school pride as a student, parent, relative, faculty member or alumni, or create them to give as gifts.
School Store
Generate income in a simple, fun way with the School Store. ClassScene’s School Store combines the ease of online shopping with the desire of students and families to buy custom products such as prints, memory books, calendars, posters, and more. Coming soon, you will be able to buy hats, caps, T-shirts and sweatshirts with the school mascot or logo.
The School Store aids the school in paying for ClassScene while allowing the school more control over the use of its mascot and logo. More people in the school community will come to the site to buy items, knowing you are the primary seller.
Parent-teacher organizations, booster clubs and student organizations also can use ClassScene for their fund-raising. The site makes it easy for the group to set up, and easy for the school community to support them.
